I have purchased extra batteries before, but this is a deal that can't be beat. I was a little concern about the extra wire coming from the battery itself, but this turned out to the saving grace. Depending on which JVC model you have it may work without it, but for mine the battery didn't function when I tried to use it the first time. I immediately thought that I would be sending it back for a refund, but then plugged the wire coming from the battery into the camcorder and it's been magic ever since....
