(More customer reviews)This JVC standard definition camcorder has worked very well. It was my first camcorder purchase. The SD video is of quite decent quality. The camera is small and light. It has many fine automatic features, such as anti-shake, good low light recording, and motion detection. I suggest buying a second battery of longer duration to swap in. Negatives: the user interface, a blue-lighted touch strip on the outer edge of the LCD viewer, is fiddly and not that easy to manage. Another negative: no way to turn off the viewer if you want to set the camera up for a long duration motion detection shot; that drains the power quickly. Workaround: plug in the power if you need a really long shot.
